About Me

I am Dr. Elizabeth Fam Filtes, a New York-based, board certified, tele-psychiatrist dedicated to helping individuals achieve greater well-being and more fulfilling lives. In addition to my private practice, I am currently an Addiction Psychiatry Fellow at New York University Grossman School of Medicine. I completed my residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where I had the honor of serving as a Chief Resident .

My areas of expertise include depression, other mood disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD, PTSD, and substance use disorders.I provide both medication management and psychotherapy, tailoring my approach to meet each patient’s unique needs. If you are already seeing a therapist, I would be happy to collaborate with them if medication management is warranted. Additionally, I am also available for second opinions or one-time consultations. My goal is to empower patients to make informed decisions about their treatment, ensuring it aligns with their values and personal goals.

I am trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), including specialized approaches such as Skill Training in Affective Regulation (STAIR) and CBT for ADHD. I am also furthering my expertise through Columbia University’s Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Program, and I have completed a Psychoanalytic Fellowship at the New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute.
